Terms & Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using our services

Last Updated: July 01, 2026

1Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website, placing an order, or using any services offered by The River ("we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services.

These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the services provided through The River platform.

2Products and Services

The River specialises in sourcing, processing, and delivering premium wild-caught freshwater fish from the Himalayan river networks of North Bengal and Northeast India. All fish are blast-frozen immediately after cleaning to lock in freshness without chemical preservatives.

Our ready-to-cook packages include hand-ground Shil-Batta spice kits. Product availability may vary based on seasonal catch availability and sourcing conditions.

3Orders and Payments

All orders are subject to product availability. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our sole discretion.

Prices listed on our platform are inclusive of applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payment must be completed before dispatch of any order.

We accept payments through approved digital payment methods only. Cash-on-delivery may be available at our discretion for select delivery zones.

4Delivery and Cold Chain

The River delivers products through a maintained cold-chain logistics network to preserve product quality during transit. Delivery timelines are estimates and may vary due to operational or weather conditions.

It is the customer's responsibility to ensure the availability of an adult recipient at the delivery address. If delivery fails due to unavailability, re-delivery charges may apply.

We are not responsible for quality degradation arising from improper storage by the customer after delivery.

5Return and Refund Policy

Due to the perishable nature of our food products, returns are not accepted once the cold-chain seal is broken or the package is opened.

If you receive a product that is damaged, defective, or incorrect, please contact us within 24 hours of delivery with photographic evidence at therivercs@gmail.com or call +91 9864538560.

Verified claims will be resolved through replacement or full refund at The River's discretion.

6Intellectual Property

All content on this website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and product descriptions, is the exclusive property of The River and is protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website without our prior written consent.

7Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, The River shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use of our products or services.

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific product or service giving rise to the claim.

8Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts located in West Bengal, India.

9Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms and Conditions at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to our website. Your continued use of our services following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
